Smart Recorder

#What it does

Instead of dragging nodes one at a time, do the job for real and the Smart Recorder turns what you did into nodes, already wired in order. It works on phones and Mobyx Devices and on browsers. It records; it never replays by itself.

#On a phone

Open a phone in the preview, press the recorder and choose a mode. Coordinate makes a Touch node at each position. Smart makes a Smart Click that finds the element again by its text, id and look, even if it moves. Typed text becomes one step per burst, and a pause longer than half a second becomes a Delay. Save & Exit keeps the steps; Discard & Exit throws them away. The nodes are placed in tidy columns.

#Everything you did, in the order you did it

• Tap as fast as you like: a tap made while the one before is still being identified waits its turn, and typing comes after the tap that opened the field.
• Enter, Tab and Escape are steps, so a search is sent when it replays; a Backspace with nothing typed before it deletes what was in the field.
• A long press (held more than about half a second) replays as a long press.
• Back, Home and Recent under the phone act on it and are recorded.
• Every step is named after what it does (“Click ‘Login’”, “Type ‘shoes’”, “Press Enter”), so the recording reads like the steps you took.
• Save waits for a tap that is still being identified, so the last step is never lost.

#AI backup for every click

With an AI set up in Settings → AI, the recording window offers AI backup for every click (on by default). Each recorded click also gets a plain-words description of what was clicked and Ask AI if not found. When the workflow runs, the click is found the usual way, by its text, id and look; only if that fails one day (the app was updated and the button moved or was renamed) is the AI asked to find it, once, and what it finds is remembered. Normal runs never call the AI. Untick it and nothing is ever sent anywhere.

#In a browser

Pick a browser in the preview and press the recorder once to start: the button turns red and counts the steps. Use the page as you normally would. Press it again and the workflow appears in a new tab, in order.

• Only your own clicks, typing, Enter and scrolling are recorded, not a script's.
• Typing in a box is one step, not one per letter; the click into the box is dropped because the typing names the box.
• A page that opened because of a click is not also recorded as “go to”.
• Each click and field gets its text and a CSS selector, so it still finds them when the page changes a little.
• Passwords are never written down: the step types ${password}; set that variable (use a Secret or Credential).
